About Longleaf

Longleaf is a 568-acre new town founded by Trey and Frank Starkey on State Road 54 in southwest Pasco County.  It is designed to foster a strong community and minimize impact on the environment, through compact, pedestrian-friendly neighborhoods, recreational amenities, retail, offices and expansive preservation areas.

Pioneer Square, the first section, and the Melon Field, the second section, are just about complete.  Approximately 350 families now occupy those dwellings.

In Downtown Longleaf, the Pioneer Building is the first building to be completed.  Retail space on the ground level is now home to Maduro's Lounge/ Cigar Bar, Longleaf Dry Cleaners, Deluca's Fine Jewelry, Stylemaker's Salon, Prima Dona  Boutique and Crosland Development.  Under construction and coming soon:  Easy Entre!!
Sixteen luxury apartments are now complete on the second and third floors of the building.

A second downtown building will be constructed directly across Town Ave. from the existing Pioneer Square structure.  It also will house retail and residential units.

Longleaf Elementary school opened in August of 2005.  And this was an educational development  "extension"  to the Longleaf Learning Center preschool.  The preschool  recently completed an expansion.

The Starkey family has chosen Crosland to develop the next two neighborhoods in Longleaf.  Section 3 is now under construction.  There are four well known builders providing both spec and custom homes:  Cardel, David Weekley, Inland, Mark Marconi and Windward.   Models are now open.

With these exciting new developments Longleaf is poised for tremendous growth as it matures into “A Town to Call Home.”  Find out more about Longleaf at
