About Longleaf

Longleaf is a 568-acre new town founded by Trey and Frank Starkey on State Road 54 in southwest Pasco County.  Longleaf is a traditional neighborhood development or TND.  It is designed to foster a strong community and minimize impact on the environment, through compact, pedestrian-friendly neighborhoods, recreational amenities, retail, offices and expansive preservation areas.

The TND concept embraces small town living with numerous parks, benches, sidewalks, mail kiosks.  Everything is designed to be within walking distance for all those living here.  This concept is routinely experienced when getting the mail takes an hour due to the neighbors you meet along the way..:)

There's a Town Hall for community gatherings, a swimming pool, tennis basketball and volleyball courts, hike and bike trails and playgrounds to enjoy.

Pioneer Square was the first residential section, started in 2000.  Then came the Melon Field, and the third section, yet to be named, is under construction.  Approximately 425 families now live in our community.  There are also plans for Section four, not yet started, and a gated section called Mariposa. Approximately 1200 families will live here when all is completed.

In "Downtown Longleaf" the Pioneer Building is now completed.  Retail space on the ground level is home to a number of businesses, making it hard to leave home at all..:)

The TownGround Coffee Shop has all kinds of coffee delectibles.  The coffee shop has also sponsored many performing arts events with local talent and school choruses.

Maduro's Lounge/ Cigar Bar has many brands of wine and beer. Additionally, there is usually live entertainment on Wednesday and Saturday evenings.

Deluca's Fine Jewelry has something for everyone with a wide selection of jewelry styles and prices.  They also do custom work and repair.

Stylemaker's Salon provides a full line of hair, nails and waxing services by knowledgable and personable professionals.

Longleaf's Closet is our new consignment shop with excellent quality merchandise at very reasonable prices.

And lastly, Lonzalo's Italian Restaurant has an extensive menu with superb food served in a casual, friendly atmosphere.  Great food! Good times!

Sixteen luxury apartments occupy the second and third floors of the Pioneer building.  There are one and two bedroom units with balconies overlooking Town Ave. or Starkey Blvd.

During the fall and winter there is a Farmer's Market in Longleaf with local vendors selling produce, seafood, plants, bread, jam, chocolate candy and a variety of other specialty items.  It is open on Thursdays from 3 - 6PM.

Our downtown merchants have recently sponsored outdoor concerts and holiday events.  These are open to the public and proceeds are donated to local charities.

Longleaf Learning Center was the first business in the community filling a need for preschool learning and daycare.  They explaned the facility approx. two years ago.

Longleaf Elementary school opened in August of 2005.  This is an "A" school.

Crosland is the developer for the remaining sections of Longleaf.  There are four well known builders providing both spec and custom homes: Cardel Homes, Inland Homes, Mark Maconi Homes and K. Hovnanian Homes

Models are open for you to see the fine craftsmanship of these builders, as well as the TND concept.

With these exciting new developments Longleaf is poised for tremendous growth, as it matures and becomes “A Town to Call Home” to many more residents.  Find out more about Longleaf at www.longleaftown.com or www.traditionalneighborhoods.net.
